Have you ever found yourself in need of a medical appointment but unable to see a doctor? I have personally found myself in this instance more than once. When I first moved to Ottawa, I didn’t have a family doctor. I came down with a really bad flu and ended up sitting in a walk in clinic for over THREE HOURS. Sitting in a waiting room on a good day is no fun, but suffering from nausea and a fever is even worse. If I knew that I was able to see a doctor from my own home I would have jumped at that option instantly.

As a parent I have a very important role in teaching my kids good life skills in order to keep them out of danger. These tidbits of advice can range from the importance of having a balanced breakfast, which does not mean ensuring the equal parts of milk to cookies as my daughter seems to think, to the big things like the danger of running near busy roads. These things may not seem to have any relation to dating or finding the love of your life for many people, but it has a pretty ironic meaning in my husband and I’s story.
