I personally love giving gifts. I love taking the time to brainstorm ideas of what to buy those I love and packaging up a gift that is creative, from the heart, and unique. As we become more socially aware, and conscious about how things are made, it adds a whole level of thought into the gift giving process.

It can be hard to find gifts that are ethically made and good for the environment, and that also give back and support smaller businesses. However, UncommonGoods changes all of this. Shopping at UncommonGoods is easily done with the click of a mouse, and you can feel happy knowing that sustainability is a part of every decision they make.

UncommonGoods offers unique items from artists and small manufacturers who make their products in a more socially and environmentally responsible manner. They feature products that contain recycled components and refrain from selling products containing leather, feathers or fur.

Can they get any better – the answer is YES! UncommonGoods is passionate about giving back, which is why they have created the Better to Give Program. This program allows you to select a non-profit organization to receive a $1 donation from UncommonGoods at checkout. UncommonGoods has donated over $1,000,000 since the creation of the Better to Give Program!

Okay, now that you’ve fallen in love with UncommonGoods like I have, let me share with you some of my favourite gift ideas they have on their site.

Adding the Personal Touch – Honestly, what says “thoughtful” better than something that is personalized? I love personalized items because they’re unique and sentimental. Uncommon Goods has a huge selection of personalized items. My favourites are the Morse Code Necklace, which allows you to have a special date, mantra, or name put into morse code, the Hand Embroidered City Pillows and Personalized Family Name Embroidery.

Teach Kids Young – I’ve always loved shopping for kids, but now that I have one of my own it has taken Christmas shopping to a whole new level. I definitely want to raise my daughter with the understanding of fair wages, sustainable products and supporting local or small businesses, so it makes perfect sense to start doing that by purchasing her gifts through UncommonGoods. The kids section is my favourite part of the website and I can hardly narrow down what I would pick. I’m already dying to buy these Taco Booties for my next friend who gets pregnant and I’d probably also have to get the Tortilla Swaddle too. This Sloth Mobile is too cute for words and has me wanting to redecorate Bria’s room and how fun would a Taco Truck Playhouse be?

Fill Up Those Stockings- Stockings are honestly my favourite part of Christmas, but they can also be the hardest part to get creative with (like how many pairs of socks and packages of gum can you get?!). I love that Uncommon Goods has a whole section devoted to stocking stuffers. Some of my top pics are the Flavour Infuser Water Bottle, Tea from Around the World Set , Box of Chocolate Soaps and the DIY Lip Balm Kit.
